jrenaut #22: Denizens take 2
They were open today so already a big improvement from last time
Dubplate DIPA - Strong but not overwhelming. Fruity aftertaste

Suffragette Stout (chocolate cherry stout): more of an essence than a flavor of cherries, but very nice

Beerneuring #32
Feb 23 at Dragon Hops Brewing in Purcellvile. I got the Dust Off, an APA. Floral, and citrusy. Quite refreshing.

Beerneuring #10. Public Option.
This was like the best beerneuring experience ever. Justifies this whole friggin freezing saddles.
So. Beautiful day. I ride to Public Option, up the nicely improved MBT, and finally found the right way to Franklin Street.
But Lord of the Stupid had forgotten to check the hours. Friday and Saturday only. Oh well, I can ride somewhere else.
Then a couple walk up and unlock the door. "You're closed, right?" "You rode here, come on in. Take your bike in".
They gave me a free beer. (They can't charge when they're closed ? But still, they didn't have to do that, but they insisted) They are riders, WABA members, we talked bikes, freezing saddles, and the brewery business.
We. Should. All. Go. There.
Public Option Cream Ale.
Nice grassy hop aroma. I was too absorbed in conversation to really pay attention to the taste, but suffice it that it was balanced and pleasant.

Beerneuring #33
Feb 23 at Adroit Theory. Definitely one of my favorite breweries for stouts. I showed remarkable restraint in not ordering one of their high ABV stouts and got the Demogorgon, a sour made from a blend of 2 beers. Not sure what the 2 beers were though. I'm not usually a fan of sours but I liked this one. I'm guessing the stout they blended in tempered the sourness and brought some sweetness in.

Beerneuring #34
Feb 23 at Belly Love. I got the Eye of Jupiter, an oatmeal stout. Lots of coffee on the nose, and chocolate on the palate. I really like this one a lot because it's not too sweet like a lot of oatmeal stouts. I like the bitter finish too.

#FS2020 Beerneuring #11, finally a New York City brewery (they mostly open later than I want to be out riding during the week). After riding the hell Gate Pathway across Randall's Island, I crossed the Bronx Kill and stopped at The Bronx Brewery on 138th St for the American Pale Ale, very tasty. Their on tap draft selection was heavily weighted with IPA variations. There were no active brewery tours while I was there.
