Hains Point 100 - The Finale! December 22, 2019
Hard to believe this is the 8th time I've posted the event details for the Hains Point 100. And, it was here, in this forum, that I first announced I was going to do this event and people showed up. Rain, shine, warm, wind, clouds, sun, TORRENTIAL DOWNPOUR, the people of our great city showed up. And, here I go again...
Come join me down at Hains Point to raise awareness and funds for the Washington Area Bicycling Association’s Women & Bicycles program!
December 22, 2019

And, it is with heavy heart that alas, this will be the final HP100. While the WABA Women & Bicycles program will remain near and dear to my heart, the Hains Point 100 has run it's natural course, and it's time to step aside. This event has grown to a size that is hard to coordinate on our own, and it's time to trust that the support I've raised over the years can be sustained with the help of others. So for us, it's time to draw this event to a close, and I will do all I can to make sure this beloved #BikeDC community tradition ends on a high note.
I deeply believe that getting more women on bikes will make DC a better place for everyone. Doing a 3-mile loop gets a little boring so for 7 years now, I've asked DC cycling community to join me for music, food, door prizes, hand-ups, and more!
Everyone is invited of all riding abilities. You can ride as long - or as little - as you'd like! Event is free, all I ask is you register and consider donating to WABA's Women & Bicycle Program.
**Please go to www.HainsPoint100.com for registration, schedule, FAQs, what to expect for the day.**
And, a thank you to the generous sponsors and supporters that will make the day even *more* fun!

I hope that the weather a week from today is as nice as it has been today. A bit windy on Hains Point but quite pleasant.

Will be hard to make it this year but I registered since it's the last one. Will only be able to squeeze in the 100 minutes, not miles, and that's counting riding there and back.
Good luck and thanks for running this over the years.

Maybe everyone Save The Date for an unofficial Hains Point 100 next year. Looks like it would be December 20, 2020!

In! I'll be there in 2020 (just with less stuff and organizing)!
Just a gentle reminder that online registration closes at 5pm on Friday. It will make checking in (so you can get your door prize number!) go quicker on Sunday if you let us know you're coming ahead of time. Of course you can register on site, but may take a liiiiitle longer if you're using a credit card to make a donation.

I can verify that, yes, it did. It was supposed to be 50 and sunny last year right up to a week before the event. Then the day before I found myself putting everything in ziploc baggies, wearing rain boots to get through the puddles to load stuff into my car and sniffing that no one would show up. BUT, ya'll did.

First and Final
New to the biking community so I've missed all the previous years but I'm very excited to be joining the big finale!
