Default Motherload Documentary - December 8th

Phoenix Bikes is hosting a screening of the documentary Motherload on Saturday, 12/8 at 3:30 p.m at the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse. Tickets are 12 bucks for individuals, 5 bucks for kids and 25 bucks for families and can be purchased at: https://acdh.arlingtondrafthouse.com...cart&id=534645

There is room that the forum's own dasgeh appears in the movie. There was a lot of scheming and wrangling behind the scenes to make this screening possible so I hope you'll be able to attend and help support Phoenix Bikes.

    Movie description:
Motherload is a crowdsourced documentary in which the cargo bicycle becomes a vehicle for exploring motherhood in this digital age of climate change. The film follows director Liz Canning on her quest to understand the increasing tension between modern life and our hunter-gatherer DNA, and how cargo bikes offer a solution. As Liz meets the people behind this push to replace cars with purpose-built bikes, she learns about the history and potential future of the bicycle as the ultimate social revolutionizer.

Yes! Come! It will be awesome!

The Motherload folks filmed our Kidical Massive ride in September 2015, where Kidical Mass Arlington met up with Kidical Mass DC. So other forum members or familiar bikeDC faces may be in the movie, too!

    Question Parking for bicycles

Thanks for posting this event. Does anyone know if there is secure parking for my E-bike at the venue?

There's multiple racks around the venue. Check https://www.rackspotter.com to see all of the rack locations. They're all U-racks located on the street. I've lived in the neighborhood for 6 years and your bike will be safe U-locked to one of them. You'll also get some safety from the herd since a ton of attendees will be getting there by bike.

I hope to see you there. There will be lots of people from the forum there, so say hello.

There is a parking garage across the street from the Drafthouse. There is a TON of bike parking in the garage. Free. Secure-ish. Out of the elements. Warm. Go get your bike parking on.
