I'm fairly certain this didn't happen. They're rebuilding as it was.

Thanks for sharing. So many blatently untrue statements. Crossing at the intersection is perfectly legal. The delay in rebuilding had nothing to do with getting approval -- we haven't gotten it yet, and we fixed all the roads & playgrounds -- or because the trail is NoVa Parks -- this part is County-owned-- the delay was simply because the County didn't prioritize getting it fixed.

    W&OD Underpass is reopened!

Concrete surface rather than blacktop (more durable, I suppose). Some rocks newly piled up in the stream adjacent to the trail, I guess to route water away from the trail?

Looks like riprap for erosion control from Casey’s pictures.

    Better than I hoped!

That surface was concrete to begin with- which shows the sheer power of floodwater that tore though there. A yellow boundary line? Thank you. Rip-rap to protect the concrete? Even better. And it makes the path "feel" wider.

Ridden today. To my amazement, it *is* considerably wider! Who gets the thank you?

I will officially predict here that there won't be a FEMA Presidential Disaster Declaration for the storm in Arlington. To get a declaration requires damage that exceeds a per capita damage level at both the county and state level. I doubt the state level value has been surpassed. I think the county level is about $3.80 per capita and the state level is about $1.50.
