    Looks like they were preparing to pour concrete this morning.

    The Boulevard Manor neighborhood is up in arms on NextDoor about trail users crossing Wilson Boulevard. See https://nextdoor.com/news_feed/?post=125450273 (requires login).

    This is a good endorsement for building an underpass that won't wash away in a flood and putting traffic lights where users actually cross, instead of between a garden and some woods.

    I've posted a PDF of the discussion (with last names removed) to https://www.dropbox.com/s/lo0jk863sx...ntary.pdf?dl=0

    I hope that in doing the reconstruction they either raise the whole path a few inches or add a raised lip at the water's edge so that the trail doesn't flood as often.

    Ah, neighborhood bulletin board discussions area always the BEST!
    Gotta love that wonderful comment too, sorta half-way justifying the illegally-speeding drivers...!

    "...some of that (increased speed) is potentially unintentional. Not saying a driver can't do something about it, but going down the hill from the skate park you will pick up a fair amount of speed and need to work to keep it down."
    {bolding is mine}

    Yep - I've always thought it was just too much like WORK to try and apply adequate pressure to the brake pedal in my car, in order to stay within the posted speed limit...
    Not all drivers can handle that amount of work! Frankly, speed limits should probably be increased on all downhill runs to account for the gravity assist, and thus remove the driver's burden.

    Just heard from County Parks that repair work on the W&OD tunnel under Wilson Blvd is complete and tunnel is open. If someone could post a pic, that'd be swell.

    Less than 3 months after the storm, only ~2.5 months after all the roads were repaired, and ~1 month after all the playgrounds were repaired.
