Default Great Pumpkin Ride 2019 Registration is Open - October 26th

Registration is now open for the Great Pumpkin Ride. It's October 26th this year and starts in Warrenton with 32, 53 and 68 mile routes. There's a stop at Old Bust Head. We've stopped for a drink/dinner in Warrenton afterwards the past two years. Registrants get a long sleeve tech shirt that makes for a great base layer in winter. All proceeds benefit the Fauquier Trails Coalition.

This is a fun ride with all kinds of pumpkin goodies along the way. Wearing costumes is highly encouraged and we now have a forum tradition of doing group costumes. Past years have been gnomes, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Super Mario Brothers. These costumes have made quite an impression with other participants.

There has been talk of doing Sesame Street as the group costume this year. The pantheon of characters is at: https://www.ranker.com/list/all-sesa...ters/reference

Yes, we should get the band back together! If I stop trimming my moustache, I should be able to pull off a decent Floyd Pepper by the time of the ride.

Newbie here! I'm interested, but as a D.C. dweller with no car, are folks usually open to carpooling? Would it be fairly easy to find someone to drive with on here?

Yes! Lots of carless folks on the forum and we generally do a lot of the ride share arranging on the forum. We'll make sure you get a ride and have a group to ride with if you sign up.

Technically, Dr. Teeth and Floyd Pepper are Muppet Show characters, not Sesame Street characters, but I think Muppets are close enough.

According to the Dr. Teeth Muppet Wiki page: a picture of Dr. Teeth can be seen in the Sesame Street episode featuring the "Monsterpiece Theater" sketch spoofing Upstairs, Downstairs. So there's additional justification in case anyone feels it necessary.
