W&OD Weekend Congestion Alert

Not sure if this is the best thread to get the word out:

Heads up for

Sunday April 7, if you're riding W&OD in Loudoun: From 28.5 west there will be 700-750 runners on the trail for the Loudoun Half from 7am-11am.

Sunday April 7, Vienna Caboose to Clarks Crossing and return, 150 people for 5k, 9am to noon.


Saturday, April 28, there will be 200-250 runners on the trail from 18.5 going west (Reston Town Center area), 7-11:30 am. This is only a 5 k but it means lots of folks coming/going through an already congested area.

This works for me! Thank you! I frequently end up choosing routes that have races on them because I do not know where to check for all the races (nor remember!). (Somehow my cycling buddy and I time a Mt Vernon trip every year during the Parkway Classic. At least we know the possible routes through Old Town now.)

It only works if the original info is correct -- which it wasn't. I checked the race website and it says it's on SUNDAY. <sigh>
