Wait - does that mean my #kidical rides don't count because I have a third wheel thanks to the trailercycle? Or do they count extra because of the added load? Or just uphill (multiply by the grade)? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

So why do you want to exclude SteveO on his unicycle and someone on their tricycle?

I sense you're baiting, but hey...
It it isn't about coasting... it is more about the "ski bike" being a chair on skis, which requires the the pull of gravity for its movement.
When you're done coasting down a hill on a bike and you eventually roll to a stop, as you know, the pedals are there to use in order to continue moving.
On the "ski bike" device, you pick it up and carry it or drag it to your next destination/hill. Maybe on flats, you can adopt a Flintstones' style feet-pushing-along-the-ground for a bit.
So "bike" as a term for that kind of device is pretty ill-suited (understandable really only in the visual context that you sit on it like a bike, to ride, and steer it like a bike, with handlebars while gravity is moving it -- a chair, a barstool, a sofa... on skis.)

This counts. Anything that is not under sized for the rider, and covered in large amounts of rust just makes things too easy. Cheating. Sad.

Wasn't this discussion scheduled for late December - early January according to Freezing Saddles tradition?

Cheating is defined by those who make the rules. Since those who make the rules here are doing the hard work of making Freezing Saddles happen, the rule is that people are allowed to ride around on electric things and those miles count. I have no problem with this. It's only a game.

A wise man once said "sarcasm does not work on the net". It might have been Al Gore, I don't remember.
