2 points to @bikedavid for circling (or cycling?;-) back to District Distillery, which had been our original destination last Sunday after @handlebarsdc’s “Alleys of DC” ride, but it was closed. +2 points for discovering the younger twin of his San Francisco buddy, and +1 for having a great story to share with said buddy. 5 points total!

So the great thing about BAFS is doing stuff you never did before right? Like riding for miles in sleet and freezing rain and other fun activities, right?

Well today I drank at an artisanal distillery for the first time, despite being interested for some time.

Went to Sang Froid in Hyattsville with Komorebi's ride. Drank their main offering, a "dutch style" gin/genevra. I learned much more about gin, its history and qualities than I had ever known. We tried it straight, with a little water, chilled, and mixed with ginger beer. It had an interesting peppery thing going on, the result of the rye the distiller mentioned. Very interesting place.

Spiritneuring #1: I also did the Dutch gin tasting at Sangfroid today. It had more flavor than English gin, and the owners were friendly and taught us a lot about the gin.
