    Beernuering #3 Streetcar 82

    Lady Calvert

Interesting brewery, as others have noted its deaf owned. No problem communicating though despite my lack of ASL. (also glad that now two of my three beerneurings are places I had not been to before)

The beer was a stout. Moderately malty coffee aroma. Strong coffee-cocoa forward taste, more tart hoppy than I'm used to in a stout. Different but nice.

The ride was a lot of fun, nice big group, great folks, Anacostia River was full after yesterday' rain and the trail was nice. Coming back we had rain, sleet/rain, more rain, and cold. Worth it though. (we also stopped at a distillery, which I will discuss, and at Maryland Meadworks, but I had already beeneured there)

Beerneuring #3: Maryland Meadworks. I joined Komorebi's ride today and enjoyed the Tart Gwen, it was tasty and not too sweet.

Beerneuring #4: Streetcar 82. I got a flight of the Bellevue, Lady Calvert, Lightning Route, and Coco. My favorites were the Lightning Route and Coco.

Thanks for a great ride Komorebi! And convincing the rain not to start until we got to Hyattsville.

Default jrenaut #2 Primal Brewing Huntersville NC

Quick ride on a Spinlister rented bike in NC visiting my brother and his family. I had to walk the last 200 yards because the road this brewery is on is NOT bikeable. Although I have to say that every driver I encountered gave me plenty of space.

Pictured is their Pumpernickel IPA, which was weird, but if you order a pumpernickel IPA and don't expect weird, I'm not sure there's much hope for you. I also had a lemon haze pale ale that was extremely lemony (made more so by the slice of lemon in it). All in all I recommend the place (great outdoor space) but don't bike there (no bike parking, you'll die on the road to get there).

I swung by Caboose on the way home from work last Thursday (for coffee) and ended up getting their Vanilla Bean Hobo Stout as well. It didn't taste like 8% ABV, and the vanilla wasn't subtle (in a good way). I know I was talking to someone recently about putting a vanilla bean in a bottle of bourbon for flavoring, and now I really want to do that.

My one beer for the year. It was an IPA from Streetcar Brewing in Hyattsville. Iím sure it was probably pretty good for a beer, if you like drinking beer. Now Iím good until 2020!

    #27 Bardo Brewery

Opening weekend. Had a glass of the Goatman IPA. It was better than their beers in the past, but not a 'must have'.

Stopped by Red Bear Brewing. It was packed for the opening weekend. Got the Polar Bear (wheat pale ale), Marmalade Skies (Witbier), Mystic Storm (IPA), and Cupid's Black Heart (Chocolate and Strawberry Bock). Particularly liked Marmalade Skies which was a bit like an Allagash White and Mystic Storm which was a like a DIPA.
