    Pastry ride #2 -- Local 16

The baklava was OK to my taste -- rather dry and bland. The band was the main attraction. There will be another show on Friday.

#FS2019pastryride #8. After fat biking through Grüneburg and Nidda Parks, I stopped at Huck Bäckerei & Konditorei on Hügelstraße between the Dornbusch and Ginnheim neighborhoods in Frankfurt. It was late in the day and I just had a coffee and croissant.

I'm trying to have something different as often as I can.

#FS2019pastryride #10. It's still below freezing in Frankfurt and today we had very light snow all day, but little accumulation. My ride partner bailed on our planned ride so I just headed out mid-afternoon to ride through the Grüneburg and Nidda Parks and ended up in the Heddernheim neighborhood where I stopped at Bäckerei Bonanno for my coffee and unspecified pastry.

At our first Team Too Six-y gathering, the Corner Bakery's Blueberry Hand Pie was a delicious, fruit-filled way to refuel.

#FS2019pastryride #10. Back above freezing with light rain so the snow and ice is gone in Frankfurt. I took out my Salsa Pistola for a road ride stopping at Riedback in the Riedberg neighborhood of Frankfurt. I had a Rosinenbrötchen (like Best Buns raisin Danish) with my Kaffee.

Made a trip to the Fahrradwerkstatt to pick up my Rove after some brake work, but forgot my camera. That didn't keep me from stopping at Awake on Friedberger Landstaße in Nordend-Ost for a Cafe Crema and Schokocroissant on my way to the CG and home. #FS2019pastryride #11.

#FS2019pastryride #12. Some light snow again in Frankfurt, but much warmer than the DMV. I went out and rode a variant of Frankfurt'd GrünGürtel after postponing it three times last week. I stopped at mile 17 for Mittagsessen at the Bäckerei Ewald in Fechenheim, enjoying my hausgemacht Spinat Quiche, Schokohönchen, and of course, Kaffee.

#FS2019pastryride #13. The weather forecast said less than a 5% chance of precipitation this morning, yeah right. Just a little misty as I rolled out at 10:30. I stopped at Brühmarkt at Bockenheimer Warte for an Americano and two mini-Schokobrötchen. Back on the road the mist turned to drizzle, then to light rain with fog as I headed across the fields. Many of the trails hadn't been cleared (kein Winterdienst) and there were several stretches of soft ice, so between being wet and not having my Pugsley with studded tires I headed home near Nordweststadt instead of continuing on to Oberursel and Bad Homburg. I wasn't interested in getting London Bridge points, and this ride got my weekly 100 mile points for the team.
