Default Boomerís Blue Ridge Mountain Ride : Nov 17, 2018

Back by Popular Demand...well, OK, so Paula and Kitty asked me nicely to do it again next time I was home...

    When: Sat, 17 Nov 2018 @ 09:29AM

Where: VDOT Commuter lot, 4159 Frost St, Marshall, VA 20115, USA https://goo.gl/maps/yYarvkrkUF42

Distance: 56 mile loop of VA
Terrain: Piedmont rollers and 2 climbs, Mt Weather and Naked Mtn

Difficulty: Kinda sorta (itís up & over Mt Weather after all)

Bike Trip Time: 5 hours (saddle time)

Rest stop options : Bluemont General Store (obligatory), Bearís Den overlook on the Appalachain Trail (and heated AT Lodge), Paris and Naked Mtn Winery.

    For route map, see: http://bikewashington.org/routes/bluerdg/index.htm

Car pooling encouraged to start/end @ VDOT lot

If itís very cold, then pack your own food to eat while in the saddle as we will want to keep moving & keep warm.

If itís wet, then ride will be cancelled as the descent from Mt Weather can be treacherous (but otherwise a thrill when dry!:-)

    Open invitation

Note: pic is from B4 crew of 2015 @ Bear's Den

Yep, I can take 3 additional people but only 1 additional bike.

Also, I need to leave Marshall around 4:00. That shouldn't be a problem since we're starting at 9:30, but if you think the ride will be longer I'll need to bow out.

Excellent @reji: can you perhaps give @Kitty and her bike a lift? She is located in Rosslyn, FYI, and needs to get back by early afternoon.

Finishing the ride before 4PM is easy. If you ride like a beast and skip the rest stops, then the ride could be over be over by 12noon!:-0
