Beer cans are made of aluminum, some bike frames are made of aluminum. Also, people make bikes out of bamboo, how hard can it be? Make a big-ass fire and turn your empties into a new bike, and then ghost-ride it out.

OK. That does it. I'm throwing the fenders on the Pugsley. I, for one, will arrive at the lockhouses without a mud stripe up my backside.

If it looks like the towpath will be miserably muddy, I plan to take this road/ferry route instead: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/27659112.

Make sure to check the White's Ferry FB page - they do sometimes shut down if the weather/water warrant.

If thunderstorms hit, it is advisable to get inside something sealed. Since you won't have a car to retreat to, you may want to figure out where the nearest building (not shelter) is.

Iím keeping a close eye on the weather. Right now there are possible thunderstorms with very light rain. Sunday looks like light rain. No changes to the plan right now but please stay tuned to this thread for any last minute updates.

I think everyone is experienced with riding in the rain, so we will hope for no lightning. If the canal is a mess from rain, Iíll plan on taking Komoís road route.

The lockhouse should be able to accommodate everyone sleeping indoors flop house style.

I had thought about surprising y'all by kayaking up to Edward's Ferry Saturday evening with a hatch full of cold beer, but the weather doesn't look like it's going to cooperate.

With the rain predicted, my tent has become a delete option, replaced by a clean, dry change of riding clothes for Sunday's ride back. It looks like if we do the W&OD to White's Ferry route I should be able to put everything on my commuter. There is just going to be an ugly amount of weight on the rear wheel.

I am sooo disappointed accordioneur will not be able to complete his plans.
