Default Postponing the Freezing Saddles closing celebration until Monday, April 9

    Dear Freezing Saddles Participants:

Who knew that the biggest storm of the season would take place AFTER our competition ended?! In the interest of safety, we are postponing the End-of-Season Celebration and Prize Ceremony until Monday April 9. Even though the roads remain relatively clear in Arlington as of 8 a.m., the prediction is still calling for substantial accumulation, ice and high winds (up to 40 mph) later in the day. Some nearby localities already have several inches of snow. The federal government and all of the regional school systems have shut down, as have many public transit services.

We regret having to postpone the celebrations, as we realize that many people have been holding this date for months and some even flew in for the ceremonies.
Please mark your calendars with the new date: Monday April 9 at 6 pm at Bier Baron in DC.

    Be safe out there.
    Warmest regards,
w&w and the FS organizing team

Despite the irony, this really is the best decision.

Huge thanks to W&W and the rest of the HH committee for working with Bier Baron to ensure that we can celebrate soon!

    Enjoy the "winter" weather!

    Definitely the right call.

Today should've been the last day of Freezing Saddles.

Yes, from now on Freezing Saddles runs until the first post-winter snow or the beginning of the next Freezing Saddles, whichever comes first.

Just went for a quick walk and itís the right call. The roads are slush in Columbia Pike. Iím sure the Hinterlands are a mess.

Thanks to Cynthia who did a lot of behind the scenes work to consult other players before making a decision. Cynthia put a lot of energy and work into making happy hour happen.

Yeah, it's getting bad in DC too. Right call, if disappointing. Everyone who can should go for a ride, though, so long as you can do it safely. Snow riding is a blast.

Judd - Where on the Pike do you live? I'm in Penrose.
