    Default Reflecting Pool miles?

I keep seeing pics of folks playing on the Reflecting Pool on the Mall which makes me think: forget Hains Point laps, there oughta be a pointless prize for greatest distance ridden on the Reflecting Pool...

I just spent an hour roaming my 'hood, looking for rideable ice. I did some laps in a small stream that was frozen over, but my wife was hating the idea of me riding around the edges of Lake Artemesia, so I skipped it (begrudgingly)

I wish I had time to get down to C&O to check it out and ride it, if possible. It's such a cool feeling biking on ice.

Of course I will flag any reflecting pool segment

Considering it still had open water as of Monday, I think that's a good idea to avoid it.....

Indeed. One thing I loved about Chicago(-land): it would get cold enough long enough to ride on the ponds in the forest preserves.

Riding in this morning, I saw one of the dockless bikes that had been left on the side of the towpath a day or so earlier had been parked out in the middle of the C&O on the ice. Just north of the Arizona Ave trestle.

If you ride by there, why not be a good samaritan and carry it back to shore?
