About six miles of #fs2018dirtybiker miles on the paths in Grüneburg and Nidda Parks at sunset. I found out this morning that my ex-wife in Indiana passed away overnight, so I spent much of this sunny day in a funk contemplating the fragility of life.

We got a light snow this morning in Frankfurt so I decided to take the Puglsey out and head for the hills. Is it still "dirty"biker if the trails are snow covered and the bike comes home cleaner than it started out? I took several video clips which I will try and post soon.

There were two short sections in this clip. This is a back way up from (or down to in this case) the Nidda River along the edge of Eschersheim close to the start of the ride. Sorry about the poor image quality, but it was either drizzling or raining for the whole ride and the camera lens got water drops and kept fogging up.

Didn't have any more unpaved trail under the snow until I was in the Hardtwald heading uphill past Bad Homburg.

Continuing along the same basic trail, but the name changed on the climb to Saalburg. This section was closed last week when I tried to ride it downhill for forest management.

Most of this clip was on snow covered pavement, but once I turn onto Lindenweg heading to the Jupiter Column it is back to gravel and continued for just over two miles until I got to Gotisches Haus and heading back to Bad Homburg.

Last #fs2018dirtybiker clip from today's ride. This was the compete 1.3 mile gravel crossing of the Volkspark Niddatal.

A Saturday morning ride with no planned route. My dirtybiker miles were the trails through Grüneburg and Nidda Parks, some sections along the Nidda River, and then a stretch along the train tracks in Berkersheim. The crossing arm was just dropping as I got there and I didn't want to stand there for five minutes waiting for trains in both directions. I cut my Parks route short because it was a combination of sloppy and icy and I was not on the Pugsley.

ID:	16963 This stretch was real sloppy because of trucks churning up the surface for construction and brush clearing.

It's pretty easy to find a measly dirtybiker mile when you're riding a 102, especially in Germany. I didn't plan my route to include dirt/mud or gravel, but as I've mentioned before, cyclepaths/farm access roads can change surface type with no warning. I could have added even more dirtybiker miles by riding the top of the Rhine levee, but there were more people and dogs up there and I was happy with 8 to 10 qualifying miles.
