For Tuesday's #fs2018dirtybiker ride I was trying to find some snow to ride on my Pugsley. After trying some partially frozen mud along the Nidda, I headed to Obrerusel, then up to Saalburg, before downhill to Bad Homburg.

We're halfway through with Freezing Saddles, and I think that Consularrider has a huge lead in this, but I can't really tell because there is yet to be created a Pointless #fs2018dirtybiker tally page (unless I'm totally inept and can't find it). Can any progammery types help a brotha out? I think I'd want something like the #withkid page, but count #fs2018dirtybiker, with a max of 1 point per day. Miles don't really matter, but if it's easy enough, I won't complain.

Since I have been off the trails due to muddy conditions from freeze/thaw, the following is a dirty biker throwback thursday from 10 years ago

Thursday #fs2018dirtybiker ride back through Grüneburg and Nidda Parks. The trucks hauling stuff away from work being done along the railroad tracks between Bockenheim and Ginnheim have made a real mess of portions if the trails. The trucks' wheel track is frequently slightly wider than the trials so they are churning up the mud on the sides of the trails and spreading it around making even some of the paved portions almost qualify for dirtybiker.

No problem. Sorry again it took so long. I have been focused on the backend changes for being able to handle the volume. Was hoping that we could have had some volunteer help with these things this year. Apparently not. :-)

I hadn't intended this ride to qualify for #fs2018dirtybiker, but the best laid plans ...

For Friday Coffee Club (there were two of us) we headed to Hanau and ended up crossing the Main to ride the left (south bank) Mainradweg. That meant about a half mile of gravel just before recrossing the river into Hanau. Then there was another half mile just coming into Maintal. We had another two miles of gravel and frozen mud around Bischofsheim and coming into Seckbach Reid.

Just under half of today's ride was on gravel/dirt, again in Grüneburg and Nidda Parks. We've been above freezing for over 36 hours so the frozen mud and crushed stone trails were soft again, even without any additional precipitation. Probably about an inch of snow coming in the early morning hours.

For today's #fs2018dirtybiker I headed back to the Seckbacher and Enkheimer Reids. The trails were sloppy after some light snow early this morning.

Probably about 15 #fs2018dirtybiker miles on today's ride to Mainz along the Nidda and main Rivers. On the Nidda Route we stayed on the gravel side from Praunheim to Nied since there could have been black ice issues on the pavement. Then there were several sections of gravel on the R3 Mainradweg Right Bank and about a third of the return from Mainz on the Left Bank was gravel and stone "dust" (mud with as wet as it has been).

ID:	16892 For some reason this section of the cycle path is unpaved for a quarter mile threading through a mess of highways, and it seems more like a demand path than a designated cyclepath/route, especially for Germany.
