Default Hains Point In Bicycling Magazine

Hains Point has the second most popular Strava Segment of all time. I dug into my segment data. I have accounted for just under .3% of rides in the segment.

lulz -- you're carrying that segment. Back-of-the-envelope math says you've done about 1700 loops! Or, put another way, 5,000 miles of monotony.

Just under 1700 laps in the last 2.5 years. Here's a photo of me at Hains Point:

hmmmm. Looks like I only need to make up about 17 seconds to get the KOM. Should be easy.

Shouldn't be any trouble knocking that out on the commute home

I'm pretty sure the KOM was motopaced.

I can ride lead out for a solid 15-20 seconds at KOM speed if you need me.

I posted that without actually looking at the speed... I'd need a tailwind.

I can't wait for the legion of BICYCLING readers to come to DC just to do that segment, and wonder why in the hell it is so popular...

Has anyone ridden all of the top ten? How about even just five of them? I just have two, Hanes Backside and #7, the 8 min FTP in Golden CO that took me 10:40. I see two more 2018 Freezig Saddle folks have done that segment as well.
