I've retired my well-loved old commuter after 26 years/30K miles, and wonder if any of you would like it. It looks like hell but rides great and makes a good 'low theft potential' bike for getting around town. It's a 1985 Cannondale ST500 "sport-touring", 58cm, low bottom bracket, short top tube, very stable and comfortable. Most of the original components have worn out and been replaced several times over. 15-speed. Sealed bearing hubs and bottom bracket. Handbuilt dishless wheels. You'll need a seat and seatpost; probably to repack the headset; one of the threaded seat-stay braze-ons for the rear rack, which is a steel insert, has come loose and needs some work. Comes with two used and two new 27" Schwalbe Marathon tires, and the original 'erector set' style Cannondale rear rack, as well as a Blackburn Mtn rack. Contact mne.prs@gmail.com with subject line: "offer: free bike" for more information or to claim it.
I really need to log off the internet and go for a ride.

As tempting as this sounds, I already have 5 road bikes from the 70's and 80's. The wife suggests I have reached my N.
I would think that Phoenix Bikes might be interested in a donation like this.
