Default Alexandria to Pentagon North Parking Lot?

I'm hoping to bike from Alexandria (Del Ray) to watch my kiddo race in the MCM Kids Run tomorrow. Can anyone provide guidance on the least stressful way to get to the Pentagon North Parking Lot i.e., here: http://s3.amazonaws.com/mcmlive/Maps...unMap_2017.pdf

Not sure if it's better to weave my way through Crystal City/Pentagon City or take the MVT north and somehow get over the GW Pkwy by LBJ Park - feel like I've seen some signs while riding on the MVT, but haven't explored that way.

    Thanks for the help!

Either way works. If you take the MTV, ride past the turn up to the 14th street bridge, over the Humpback bridge, then make a right onto the side trail around the Army Navy Memorial that will take you by the marina. Ride North thought the marina parking lot, onto the flagstone path through the grove, then left onto the wooden bridge. Go up the ramp and you will be on the Pentagon reservation.

Here's the route lordofthemark is describing: https://goo.gl/maps/CWj7bDNkZgB2 I agree that it is the easiest way to get there, plus you won't have to worry about any road closures affecting your trip.

On a side note, that Kids' Run map is a bit confusing. Why did they orient it to the east without providing a compass?

I would go up the Mt. Vernon Trail into LBJ as well. There were tons of barricades being staged yesterday and it looks like the entrance to the Pentagon Reservation might get barricaded. This looked like it was just to discourage bikes from riding through. You may have to lock your bike up somewhere in the marina and walk the rest of the way.

You needn't bother with 1980s music videos, or whatever is on MTV these days.

LOL thank you! I rode, she ran, we both conquered. 1980s music videos aside, your guidance was spot on & much appreciated.

Btw for future reference, the only way to get near the Kid's run by bike was by taking the Columbia Island route and going over the bridge that crosses the boundary channel. Some friends taking bikes through the Boundary Channel Drive side were not allow to pass any further than I think where the crossroads is back near all the 395 ramps.

Plus, even at the Columbia island entrance. bikes were not allowed at all in the Virginia (i.e. Pentagon) side - people needed to store their bikes either on the bridge or back on the island. It also seemed like the powers that be could close off that entrance to the event at any time. (I was surprised how few people just parked in the lot and walked over to the event)
