    The Case bridge is of course not a guaranteed zero-conflict route, but then I've never had to navigate through multiple busloads of meandering, non-English speaking tourists who have never heard a bike bell before up there, so there is that.

    Oh but that's on the part past the PBL. I've been dealing with that since back when Water Street existed. They thus provoke nostalgia, and, being seasonal, are much like the swallows of Capistrano.

    Has anyone who uses the PBL at about the same time daily been checking the Bikeometer to see if usage has been increasing?

    It had to happen. Was laughing too hard to remember to get a pic. Today, at about 5:30, there was a car heading southeast in the PBL, about to exit it at 7th Street.

    Several people were laughing at the dude driving on a sidewalk.

    Goddamn, really!? In no way, does that resemble a road. Wow. So now I'm guessing the next step will be to install bollards to make even more obstacles to weave around, in addition to all the pedestrians....

    So... I'm biking from Foggy Bottom to the Nats game tonight. I don't do this often. Google maps says to go to the mall, around the Monument, and then onto Maine Ave. all the way to P street. I'm thinking that's not the way to go, right? Due to Maine Ave. messiness?

    Suggestions?

    You could do this instead:
    - Go across the mall to 4th Street.
    - Take 4th all the way to P
    - P to S. Capitol St.
    - Cross at the crosswalk onto the apron around the park
    - Circle around behind to get to the bike valet. (The map below puts you on the street, but it's better to cross S. Capitol at P)
