    Default specialized crosstrail Jammed

    We are concerned about the specialized crosstrail bike purchased from the local dealer that Jammed and injured my wife>
    We do not want this to happen to anyone else>

    It looks like the front derailleur is a tad too low and the outer limit screw is not adjusted correctly. This is an initial assembly issue and non-bike specific.

    Okay. What would you like from us? We could tell you what we think caused it if you'd like, and whether it's unusual. Sorry your wife was injured.

    Don't want to sound mean or the like and as said sorry your wife got hurt but this can happen to any bike with a front derailleur. This looks like a chain drop / jam from who know why. Could be from initial setup or shifting while back pedaling or...... Take it off line and back to the shop from where it came. a simple tune and check is likely all it needs.

    I suspect this is someone trying to gear (Har!) up for a lawsuit by gathering anecdotal evidence of a "design flaw" on the part of Specialized.
