The Alexandria Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) will be meeting at 7 pm on June 19, 2017 at the Bradlee Safeway Community Room, 3526 King Street, Alexandria, Virginia

Ray Hayhurst, City of Alexandria Complete Streets Coordinator will provide an update and discussion on developing the City of Alexandria's Vision Zero Action Plan, address top safety issues identified in recent Safe Routes to School Walk Audits and answer questions about walking and biking issues in the City of Alexandria.

    o VDOT awarded an SRTS non-infrastructure grant to ACPS for $67,250
    o The SRTS grant will fund a part-time Safe Routes to School Coordinator position and Education, Encouragement, Enforcement and Evaluation (4E) initiatives at seven schools in 2017-2018
    • Bicycling in the Schools
    o With funds previously raised (~ $30,000) and a portion of the VDOT SRTS non-infrastructure grant, bicycling safety and skills education will be provided in 11 of 13 ACPS elementary schools in 2017-2018.
