BPAC and Phoenix Bikes are partnering to conduct three bike rodeos this spring; additional volunteers are needed to ensure that these events are safe, fun and help youth learn safe riding skills. No prior Bike Rodeo experience needed! See dates, times and locations below.

Thursday, May 18: St. Stephens/St Agnes School (SSSAS) 3rd and 4th grade Girl Scout Troops
  • Time: 5:45 PM to 7:15 PM Bike Rodeo (5:15 PM Set Up; 7:15-7:30 PM - Take Down)
  • Location SSSAS Lower School (400 Fontaine Street)
  • Four to six volunteers needed; Girl Scout "Roll Models" will be particularly appreciated.

Thursday, June 1st: Del Ray's “Health and Wellness” First Thursday Bike Rodeo, sponsored by Mount Vernon Community School PTA (All Alexandria youth ages 5 to 12 invited).
  • Time: 6:15 PM to 7:45 PM Bike Rodeo (5:45 PM Set Up; 7:45 to 8 pm - Take Down)
  • Location 203 E. Custis Ave. Alexandria, VA 22301 (Madison Day School Parking Lot)
  • Six to eight volunteers needed

Friday, June 9th – James K. Polk Elementary School Bike Rodeo, sponsored by the Polk PTA.
  • Time: 6 PM to 7:15 PM Bike Rodeo (5:30 PM Set Up; and 7:15-7:30 pm - Take Down)
  • Location Polk Elementary School “Blue Top” Playground, 5000 Polk Ave, Alexandria, VA 22304
  • Six to eight volunteers needed

BPAC will organize the setup and provide instructions for each of about 6 stations; Phoenix Bikes will provide volunteers to conduct Bike safety checks and maintenance.
