Default Huzzah! The burden is lifted!

No longer will I feel bad about wearing comfortable, ankle-length socks that make me look like a tri-dork.

Likewise, I will now wear my sleeveless jerseys all summer long without fear of mockery. I may also precede a ride with a swim or follow it with a run, all without undue shame.

*eyes shiftily dart left and right*

Sometimes I... wear my running gear instead of cycling garb when biking casually.

Pretty much the only rule in The List I find useful is Rule #5. We have adopted it as quick shorthand in my house for many non bike related situations. It carries with it the spirit of cycling even when used in such contexts though.

Rules 2, 3, and (sometimes) 6 are pretty good too. And rule #10, though that is a quote that lives on its own I guess.

Rule 9 deserves to stay. That is the basis for freezing saddles (at least my interpretation of it).

I like to put duct tape over the toe area vents in my shoes for winter. Equally effective at warmth and removing any doubt where I stand...

I'm just going to repeat something I said here earlier. If I want not to look like a hobo, I get off my bike, take a shower, put on a suit, and style my hair. Until that point, no matter what I do, I'm going to be sweaty, disheveled, and helmet-haired, so making sure that everything is official kit and properly matching is not a priority. YMMV, of course.

I have been known to show up at meetings with helmet marks across my forehead. I propose a new rule to counter this unsightly effect: No meetings before 10:00 am! This gives hair a chance to dry out too.
