I don't know, I hear that it is boring there.

Default Beerneuring WITH Doughnuts Ride Opportunity

    Beerneurers,

Please see the new thread announcing Sunday's Doughneuring Extravaganza Ride, which will include Right Proper Brewing Company as its last official stop, sometime between 3:30 and 4:00.

Team 4, and anyone else who wants to ride north with us, is invited to Denizen's after that, as well--planning to get there at/about 6:00.

See my thread for more details. edelweiss

Default Beerneuring #12: Caboose, Casey Jones Rye 3/9

Not new to me, but better than I remember. Sadly, it tasted more like rye than the bread I used for my Reuben sandwich last night.

    Default jrenaut - #14 - DC Brau

    IMG_20170312_155254724_HDR by Jon, on Flickr
This is a Corruption. I've had this beer a million times. I love DC Brau because they were the first. They don't make my favorite DC beer (Atlas' Ponzi IPA), the best-named DC beer (3 Stars Two to the Dome DIPA), or my favorite brewery to hang out at (Public Option). But they were first, and they're awesome, and their beer is really good.

Saturday: Port City Colossal 6, Russian Imperial Stout. One of my new faves.

Sunday: Right Proper Motorik, Lichtenhainer. A tart, fruity, sour. Interesting.

    Default jrenaut - #15 - Franklins

    IMG_20170318_175755526 by Jon, on Flickr

Family ride up the new Anacostia trail - the trail is fantastic. Highly recommended. At Franklins I had a Hop Zen, which is a hoppy copper ale and quite pleasant. The nitro oatmeal stout was nice, too.

The most most awesome beer. Chocolate Milk Stout from Old 690 Brewery, Purceville, VA. Had to ride down a dirt road to get to the brewery. Beer was rich, sweet and had chocolate flavor.

"Our dark and rich Chocolate Milk Stout is brewed with pure milk sugar and a lathering of sweet milk chocolate. While you’ll find hints of coffee notes in this one it finishes like the end of a glass of chocolate milk. "

    Default Beerneuring #16

I was planning on doing a 200k brevet on Saturday, but it was cancelled. Unfortunately, I did not know this until I had already driven to Poolesville. So, instead, I figured why not get a few more beerneuring points?

I still wanted to get in some decent miles and I had been wanting to try and find a rideable route to Ocelot. So Dane and I went exploring.

After some interesting route adjustments, we made it!

The first beer I had was the Schizophrenia, an Altbier. It was good but in all honest was not worth the convoluted ride to get to it.

The second beer there was Thought Control. It was delightfully hoppy, with just a hint of citrus. Totally worth the ride to get there.
