I "purchased" this Kostritzer Schwarzbier black lager from Judd L. at a party hosted in my apartment building on January 7, 2017.
The Kostritzer Brewery is located here, about 40 km south of Liepzig

Just drank a Bitburger Premium Pilsner - which is Germany's most popular beer according to the packaging. It tasted sort of like a more carbonated Miller Lite. I chilled it by riding home in 19 degree weather with a six pack in my pannier.
    1. Date purchased: 1/8/17
    2. Place purchased: Trader Joe's in Old Town Alexandria
    3. Brewed by the Bitburger Brewery Group in Bitburg, Germany
    4. Premium pilsner

Well, Bitburger is one of the German beers I have seen in so many places outside of Germany. I've only seen a few places where that is on the sign outside the biergarten. Most seem to emphasize a local brewery.

It appears that they aggressively market outside of Germany. Sort of like the Foster's of Germany. The packaging itself heralded that it was exported.

    Default Beer Pairing Reminder

    Beerneurers,

I want to suggest you consider some multitasking in your pursuit of the Beer Prize, and please remember, beer isn't just for breakfast anymore! Milk Stout with old fashioned sour cream doughnuts is a sure winner in Two Pointless Prize contests!

    Beer #3
Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse - A hefe with a fruity taste and just a slight taste of banana. A good banana flavored hefeweisen is something I generally like, so I'm putting this beer in the win column.
    1. Date beer purchased - 1/14/17
    2. Place beer purchased - K-1 Beer & Wine in Arlington
    3. Name and location of brewery - Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu, Munich, Germany
    4. Type of beer - Hefeweisen
    5. Photos are welcome.
