Default 2017 German Beer Pointless Prize

Please post your accomplishments on this thread and I will tabulate the results.

    The basic rules:
    1. The beer must be by a German brewery or one licensed to produce a German branded beer.
    2. The participant must have purchased said beer, but does not have to have personally drunk it.
    3. Only beers purchased on/after 12:00:01 am 1/1/2017 and before/on 3/19/2017 by 11:59:59 pm will count towards the total.
    4. I will be the final arbiter of whether a entry qualifies and can change the guidelines of this challenge as I see fit.

    Documentation required:
    1. Date beer purchased.
    2. Place beer purchased.
    3. Name and location of brewery
    4. Type of beer, i.e. hefewisen, hell, pils, dunkel, schwarz lager, etc.
    5. Photos are welcome.

Does the beer have to adhere to the Reinheitsgebot?

Does a rauchbier qualify? Is smoke considered an ingredient?? (I've actually wondered about this...)

You know, Heineken sounds very German to me, and so does Beck's.

Das Bier ist sehr gut! (I think I get bonus points just for saying that)!

Hmmm, for Heineken the better version is: "het bier is erg lekker".

I am pretty sure ABI produces most of the Beck's sold stateside in their giant US breweries (as they do with Bass Ale). But you said "licensed to produce", so I guess that counts.

I assume brands created by US brewers that aspire to German styles do not count.

It also sounds like anything made by Stone Berlin would not count? IE a US branded beer made in Germany?
