Activity on the Mount Vernon Trail

Huh, I biked through there on the trail both directions late Sat afternoon and there wasn't any police activity or anything unusual.

I know this post is more than a year old ... but I think I was the cause of the commotion.

I was biking to Mount Vernon and a tree fell on me. I’ve recovered. Injuries included a multiple spinal fractures, a broken rib, and concussion. And my bike was broken … but I had a great excuse to buy a new one.

I have absolutely no recollection of the accident. And I have few recollections from that entire day or the next few days. I understand that the trauma center at Inova Fairfax provided excellent treatment. I know that the professionals an rehab services at Inova Mount Vernon were wonderful.

Your picture shows a man talking to the police. I’m guessing he was the ride riding the white Cervelo with black lettering. I’d like to thank him if he was the one who reported the accident and to find out any other details.
