When I went home yesterday afternoon, they had placed barriers beside the trail and covered detour signs. When I went through this morning, they were still there and the trail was still open.

Throwing a wrench in everyone's scoring demands... I want double points for run commuting. ;)

There is a parking garage across the street from the Drafthouse. There is a TON of bike parking in the garage. Free. Secure-ish. Out of the elements. Warm. Go get your bike parking on. :D
That was an amazing year. It felt like most of the teams clicked and the social aspect was pretty damned ridiculous. Kudos to the team assignment czar for that one! ;)
There is always day of registration!

BikenetiCX is fun for ALL ages and all abilities of bike-y-ness (including non-bike-y-ness). I heard you guys have to head out to Leesburg anyway, just make a pit stop for a couple of hours! :D
New start date for the closure is December 3rd. There was a sign up yesterday afternoon.
Calling out everyone who said they were going to race CX this year and have not shown up yet! This is your second to last chance this season! The course is fun! There is free beer! There is a...
You stay much MUCH warmer when running than when riding. I ran to work this morning (23F) in light tights and a wool base layer on top and was quite toasty (except for my fingers). When I ran to...
I can not tell from the original picture, and am too lazy to look back through the thread for confirmation, but those look like Maxxis Ramblers. I have had two have this problem now that were...
In for the "cabal". :D
Exactly. I use the trail for three of the four selections on a regular basis. I was really annoyed with the "select one"...
They finished! Huge congrats to Josh and Brad for an excellent summit! When you guys do it on gravel, let me know, I may join in!
Considering that I accidentally raced Ed Sander on a 40x17, I can attest that the Journey is totally doable on a 38x17.

Not cool... Not cool.
I stand with trans cyclists.

That being said, I have a 50/34 up front (chain ring sizes, not crank size, my crank is 172.5 ;) ) and an 11-36 in the back. That set up has been perfect for just about...
I can not recommend the carbon Warbird highly enough. It has exceeded all of my expectations of a gravel bike. So much so, that when it became very apparent that my original Warbird was too small,...
I literally saw one other bike commuter (an e-bike, nonetheless) this morning. Tons of runners out, though.
What if said pedestrian is going more than 6 mph? Would these proposed speed limits also apply to pedestrians? When I run, I often run more than 6 mph. May not much more, but still...
Spokes was affected. From what I have heard, lots of smoke and water damage, but most of the fire was contained in the ceiling.
Lots of tree litter out on the roads and trails this morning. I almost got taken out by a very large branch on Key Blvd.
I moved a couple of big branches off the Custis Trail, but the wind is...
That sucks. :(
Have you contacted Capital Bikeshare to see if the bike was legally checked out and if they have that person's info?
Man, this led me down a rabbit hole. Interestingly enough, Massachusetts was the first state to require automobiles to have electric headlights in 1915, other states followed by the early 20's. It...
