The hailstones mostly did not stick to the sidepath on 28th. I did not venture on the Boulder creek trail in the hail. I am walking this evening, having gotten in my ride yesterday and it might hail...

It had to happen. Was laughing too hard to remember to get a pic. Today, at about 5:30, there was a car heading southeast in the PBL, about to exit it at 7th Street.

    Several people were laughing...

Well I assume their certification is strict enough to satisfy all, but I am pretty sure Classen is not a "heimish" company.

    Boulder, Colorado

Assume someone has a few hours to kill. Assume they are going to ride BCycle, the local bike share. They are staying near Folsom and Arapahoe. Any recommended rides?

    Asking for a "friend".

  10. Cranksets and chain rings for newbies

I have been told by the good folks at Phoenix that I probably need a new crankset/chain rings.

    1. To tell if the chain rings are worn out, I check the teeth right? I could post some pics here...

    Cannon to right of them,
    Cannon to left of them,
    Cannon in front of them

Stormed at with shot and shell,
    Boldly they rode and...

Problem is, it's past 2, if I try doing it myself now, I miss the chance to take it to Phoenix bikes if I can't fix it. (Had to drive POTM somewhere). So I am go8ng to take it in.

BTW we do have one of those crank arm puller things in the bike room. I mean IF people think the cassette is still okay, and suggest I follow Hozn's advice and keep this chain and run it down with...

So I need a new chain. The best outcome is I remove the chain (quite confident doing that with the standard chain breaking tool, since I will replace the chain anyway). Leave bike in the bike room,...

Oddly though, the tool goes in more easily at the 1.0 mark, than at the .75 mark. Could that be because the tool is bent?

Does it change to not doing the crank arm first? I'd rather not mess with the crank arm if I can avoid it.

We do not seem to have a consensus here. I guess maybe try the crank arm first (I think the bike room has one of those taper things) and then go ahead and break the chain - using pliers if I can find...

    Ok.

On the way home on Saturday, going up the "hill" on North Hampton, fortunately only a couple of blocks from home, I managed to get my chain very badly stuck in my front gears. As in all...

Oh but that's on the part past the PBL. I've been dealing with that since back when Water Street existed. They thus provoke nostalgia, and, being seasonal, are much like the swallows of Capistrano.
