Ironically, from a distance as I approached the spot I saw a guy already there and assumed that Giraffey had just been collected, but it turned out to be a guy walking his dog, and they ended up...

And it was closed for quite a while a few years ago. Not sure if VDOT was doing maintenance or if it was a safety issue or what, but then it mysteriously reopened.
