I think Jesus would ride a blue Space Horse.
A runner up might be a blue Bianchi Volpe.
He would definitely need versatility, touring capability and a soft steel ride for bumpy roads.
Some awesome traction strips have been placed across the new FMR cyclocross bridge to keep it from getting slippery. I couldn't take a photo, but kudos to whoever did this!
The way I look at it is like this -- every day that I don't ride at least one mile, someone else on the team has to ride 20 miles to make up for it. And even worse, that someone else might be me. ...
I would have volunteered right away if I was going to be in town. Will try for next year.
So bummed to have to miss this HH - and all of Bike to Work week too. :(
Someone might want to give the contractor a heads up on Bike to Work Day too, if that hasn't been done already.
A big key to this challenge is riding every single day - even more so than was the case with Freezing Saddles. I'll do the best I can, but unfortunately I have a few trips coming up (including all...
Thanks for the info about the trail being re-opened. Very sad news from there, though.
I saw a couple of hours ago on twitter that the trail at Gravelly Point was closed for police activity and that there did not appear to be an easy detour around the closed part. Does anyone know if...
Funny that you mention that! I spotted Jay Fisette in Revolution Cycles in Clarendon around lunchtime today and thanked him for all his support of cycling. He was picking up a bike that had been in...
Just got wonderful news - my building is closed ALL DAY today! It's a great day to ride a bike! Now, where to go -- is anyone riding today?
And yep, the Gnats were out in force last night!
Oh no! It's scary that there are [ ] like that out there! Are you ok otherwise? Do you know if the bus driver got any info? So sorry this happened to you.
That's all. ;-)
I got a "hi" from Dirt today near the airport and from someone else (?) at Gravelly Point (in red, white and black kit), but no fives. Every day is a great day to celebrate biking and to see friends...
It's actually kind of fun to ride over, at least when it's dry out. This morning they had even put asphalt down to smooth out the ends.
I was concerned about going through this area this morning but found that the sidewalk on the other side of 15th Street was completely open and passable. No problems.
All of the above, and a pump.
Congrats to all of you! Amazing accomplishments all around!
Consularrider,
Sorry I missed seeing this message until just now! It's probably too late to join you all now, but I'll be thinking good thoughts for them (and you) as I head out to meet the...
It's about time you guys met up! So glad to see Jimmy back on the bike too! :D
Oh NO! Just saw this. I'm so sorry, Chris! Let us know if we can do anything for you or if you'd like to get together with some biking friends at any point. I hope the time goes fast and the...
And at least one more today - a bikeshare station was up and had a bike in it on FMR trail across from Shirlington Village!
I second that. Nice and long needed improvement!
Another option - Ask ACPD to close off all the streets to cars and pedestrians and time some teams!
