Except for the costumes, it reminded me of the Smithsonian Folklife Festival on the Mall --- a bit more colorful. The bike parade is easy, the biggest challenge is riding the brakes for most of it....
I have my recital that night, so the drinking will have to wait.
Tim and I have a tradition. He makes me unload a truck while he watches. Claims it's good cardio....
That's because you're everywhere and see everything. Just like......Santa Claus.
This is a heartbreaking story. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I'm so sorry there wasn't a better ending.
So Tim, I can just pitch a tent in your front yard the night before, okay?
The Confident City Cycling Course will give you the skills you need to feel more comfortable riding in the street.
I feel much safer riding on the streets. But it took a couple of years to...
Last Call!
If you didn't get tickets yet, you can still bring your credit card and buy them at the door tonight.
Excuse me, gotta get back to cinching myself into dress.
Try it out on a weekend morning when there is less traffic and with the bike loaded exactly like you were riding to work.
I was so hoping it was a dress....

Not by plan, but I've taken several bikes on Metro this winter. I gave up on elevators late one Saturday night downtown by myself in the cold when I couldn't find the Metro Center station elevator....
*cough* Consularrider, seems to me you might be the Green Hornet, or Superman. :-) You're all over it.
Great thinking in a bad situation.
Just to help inform, there is a $1,000 minimum fundraising effort associated with registering as a walker.
Consularrider, here's 24 hours of booty: This is my friend, Coach Gleason. He lives around here. You may have encountered him last summer at the "games." He rode 340 miles in 24 hours. Seriously. Oh...
Guess you'll just have to pedal faster....
As I write this crouched next to a space heater, I'm trying to imagine warmer weather.
So what do I need to do with my bike? Anything in particular I need to check?
Do I really need to have it...
Thank God you dismissed the idea of the branding iron.
I'm Ann, bikepetal, formally known as Rhinestone Cowgirl. I ride a bunch of bikes and am still looking for the one that fits me best.
I commute to work when my schedule allows me.
I like hills.
