See you there.
Yeah, it's double counting my Strava miles for January's MTS challenge.
This afternoon the CCT was clear from Georgetown to Bethesda. There are a couple wet spots that may refreeze tonight.
Did one of you leave me a voicemail on my cell phone? Unfortunately I can't retrieve it.
I'll try and make it this evening. What time are you planning to get there? I'll send you a private message with my cell phone number.
And we all appreciate your stellar work!
We all wish you a speedy recovery.
The W&OD between Church St in Vienna and Ohio St in Arlington has some slushy bits, but no real issues for any type of tire if you take your time. I rode west around 7 am and back around 8:15 and...
Arlington County clears the section from the Custis Trail to EFC Park/Metro, but the NVRP people don't want them to touch the rest of the trail.
You: my wallet somewhere between Purcellville and Ashburn. It didn't help retracing my route (other than to add milage). :(
I got to the closed Science Club about 6:20. Since I don't have a smart phone, I didn't see the messages about the new location until I got back home. Better luck next time. :(
Ok, I'm getting ready to head over from Arlington.
Is this still on for tonight?
Well, I'll be leading a group from Shirlington to Port City Brewing for their January ride. I plan to get to Shirlington by 9:30 to grab a coffee and croissant at Best Buns before we head out at 10.
Right now I have two bikes and have two sets of wheels for the one I ride the most (Kona Rove). I currently have 700X35 cx type tires on one wheel set and 700x35 Schwalbe Marathon Winter studded...
I'll be happy to award the Hamster Wheel Prize for the most Hains Point laps.
Also the W&OD from Bluemont to Sparrow Pond (Glencarlyn Park milepost 2) is about 50% totally clear, clear single track on other portions, but has several long stretches that are packed snow or ice...
Here is the link to their website with the address at 3950 Wheeler Avenue in Alexandria, VA.
Take the route through Crystal City and you have several CaBi stations to choose from.
The best selection I've found (not necessarily the best prices) is Peter White Cycles. It looks like BikeTiresDirect is now carrying a wider variety at lower cost than Peter White.
Jeff, Bluemont is three miles west of Shirlington. But that said, the 4MR Trail from Eads St (actually all the way from the MVT) to Shirlington is clear and rideable (Was cleared by Arlington County...
Save us the outside tables please. It's bound to be crowded.
Yeah, I am sooooo unlucky!
Well, the curb cut placement is for the 14th St crosswalk. Of course, there's no reason there couldn't be a second curb cut where the walk ramp comes up from the monument.
Also on the uncleared...
Well, assuming I manage to wake up in time this week, I'll be there.
