Ugh yeah I've seen this guy before.
Honestly the worst thing about stuff like this is kneejerk reactions/misgivings some people have about cycling being prohibitively dangerous. Many people in my office know I commute by bike. I...
The bike seems ok although I haven't examined it closely yet. My wife now knows how to take off a QR wheel. :)
I hopped on a stationary bike (not a bike on a trainer) for 0.2mi this morning......
Thanks all. Ortho said it should heal naturally without surgery so I'm leaving it for now. The same advice was given to me when I fractured my elbow in 2011 and that healed fine by itself.
Well, it should be easier to not get a new one soon. Had a little accident on the way home Sunday.
Have to agree that BtWD is like Christmas! (Especially since I don't really celebrate Christmas.)

There hasn't been an A or B group before, but it has split into a lead group (with the ride leader) and a sweep group (with the ride sweeper). I imagine with a A group it will be similar except the...
Cool. I won't be there this weekend, but it's really nice to have a more casual group hills ride so close to home. Last time I rode it I only decided 20 mins before the start that I'd go ride. Looks...
Ah yes, I held one of those briefly at Freedom Plaza (a rider from FCC had one). Coolest maps ever! I loved using the cannons in Trinsic to take out the guards anonymously to get easy gold and plate...
But I already own two 2013 model bikes :(

Good to see you all - a whole bunch of forumers at Ballston, and I fun with the Bullitt too (although I couldn't figure out how to really ride it). Then I stopped in Rosslyn - rcannon, OneEighth,...
Cleats? But yeah one benefit of being light is I notice I rarely break stuff easily (other than my own bones!).
Heh, no, but my 4 year old just isn't very steady behind the wheel yet.
I like Crank Bros for the float and ease of entry/egress although I'm yet to experience the durability issues that some others have.
I also eschew one-sided clipless pedals. I've ridden clipless...
I had one of those mornings today. Running late. Halfway to the trail I realized I forgot my wallet/keys/ID/etc, luckily my wife hadn't left for pre-school yet. Arrived at work and realized I had no...
"new" of course is new, to me.
Note of course bikes/frames does not include new wheelsets. I've only bought 1 of those so far this year.
My departure time will depend mostly on the weather radar but will otherwise be around 4-4:30pm from DC
My latest cycling-related goal is actually to not buy a new bike/frame for at least 6 months. Now to go find some inspirational quotes about resolve...
This is part of my regular commute home:

I cross Virginia Ave at the zebra crossing and ride on the sidewalk for a little bit after crossing. You could also just turn...
Titanium is truly elite.
I have some permanent titanium bone screws in my right shoulder...
First-world problems!
I have SpecialED MTB shoes that I still wear that are the first pair of clipless shoes I bought. They're probably around 12 years old.
I also bought the same basic model...
One last bump - received my new replacement HRM strap (for free).
It's worth noting that it is considerably different to the original "premium soft strap" that came bundled with my Edge 500. It's...
I should be able to make it.
For a conventional helmet, yeah. But the new technologies mentioned in the article are designed specifically to absorb some of this impact before your brain has to. My (limited) understanding is that...
