Greetings inhabitants of planet earth.

I know this is definitely not part of Arlington, but many of us venture outside Arlington on our bikes. When doing so, one of the most difficult things to do is venture outside the beltway. I attempted to do so last weekend on my Mountain Bike Death March and ended up having to duke it out on Braddock Road because of the bridge closure.

The lovely folks at FABB informed me this week that the bridge is back open for the time being, but will be closed for 4 days starting around September 13th for the raising and lengthening process.

Details are a good thing!

Sure beats playing Frogger on the Beltway.

If you need to cross the beltway in that area during this closure, there is no good alternative. The least life threatening would probably be Little River Turnpike. I rode Gallows and Braddock Roads on Saturday and survived both. Neither was a friendly experience for anyone involved.

Love,

Pete
