There was a fun thread on the DC Family Biking group adding our own yells.

Well, this can continue indefinitely.

Once he could ride on his own, I could pull just far enough ahead to not hear him complaining.

Now, he can ride away from me at will when he doesn't want to listen to me yelling at him.

And he has no need for me to get him to school.

Thank you for providing hope to those of us still in the trenches!

That was a funny read. Riding with my son has been simultaneously the best and the most terrifying time on the bike.

With the Dear Daughter I simply need to gently remind her to pedal a bit more while she talks as we ride along streaming a sparkly vapor of happy chatter behind us. With The Boy it is me thinking "Gaa! Slow down, watch out, look where you are going" and the like. We have been going MTN biking and that is a whole new level of Fun for him.

Most of time I'm either telling him to actually put down some pedal force (I can feel when he is), or to stop doing no-hands/etc shenanigans that are unbalancing the bike because we're about to go offroad or fast around a turn or whatever. To be fair, his drivetrain is single speed so it's only really worth pedaling uphill once I've lost some momentum.
