I just saw this article about discussions around bringing bikeshare to GWMP. I'm about 2 months late on noticing this, but I'm curious if there is anything new on this front.

I shudder a bit to think about adding CABIs to the mix at Gravelly Point (which needs a bike beltway) but agree that all of those locations would be popular. The area are the Pentagon sorely needs a station.

There is a major hole in coverage in that area and stations would really be helpful. I hope this does go through.

We had a discussion about the topic on this thread, when the article was first published: http://bikearlingtonforum.com/showthread.php?8583-Bike-stations-along-GWMP-may-not-be-installed

Actually, there is finally some movement. A Memorandum of Understanding is on the Arlington County Board Agenda for an upcoming meeting: http://arlington.granicus.com/MetaViewer.php?view_id=2&event_id=783&meta_id=132727

Looks like docks should go in over the next 2 years or so.

Cabi at Gravelly Pt. Shudder! It's already a mess there. Sigh.

The proposed station on base at Ft Myer is ....interesting.....if the county is fully footing the bill since that station won't be available to most of the general public.

There's already a station for a long time now inside the fence line of the white house complex.

The White House station doesn't appear on Spotcycle or public CaBi maps. If a station is added to Ft. Myer, it probably won't appear on maps either.

Arlington approved adding CaBi on the Parkway: http://newsroom.arlingtonva.us/release/more-capital-bikeshare-coming-to-gw-parkway/
