View Full Version : New one for me-the saddle adjusting bolt just snapped...

I'm not a small guy, but I'm not huge either. I was coming out of the tunnel under Memorial Bridge on the MVT when I heard it and part of it fell somewhere (couldn't find it). So that was fun tightening the remaining saddle adjusting bolt (talking about the two bolts that let the saddle slide forward/back and pitch) and then trying not to gyrate my hips at all for the last 4 or so miles. Off to the LBS when it opens. I swear, my luck.

And fixed. Apparently this is a fairly common problem because the bolts are really cheap. But losing the wedge piece does not help because a lot of the seat posts are now designed specifically for that wedge, rather than just some generic one. Anyway, a rather cheap fix, yet annoying. Makes me question small bolts holding bigger things together.
