BikeArlington is looking for Ride Marshals to support our Pi Day Pie Ride, an approachable 7-mile, on-street ride with five stops for pie. It's going to be delicious fun, and we need your help!

50 slots sold out yesterday in less than 5 hours with a full waiting list, so we expect it to be well attended! Some of these riders may be new to riding in city traffic or may be unfamiliar with Arlington's neighborhood streets so it would be great to have some more experienced riders from the forum to help lead the group. Plus, there's free pie!

Ride Marshals will help smaller groups navigate the cue sheet, remind folks to ride likes PALs (be predictable, alert, and lawful) and encourage riders with positive energy.

Event Details:
On Satuday, March 14, Marshals meet at 12:45pm and the ride leaves at 1:15pm from Revolution Cycles-Clarendon.

Destination: 5 great pie-filled stops, ending at Java Shack after 4:00pm

So you're saying, circumspectly...Two Pi are?

I think it all depends on the shape of the route.

I think it all depends on the shape of the route.

Your argument is circular.

Ok, so we can volunteer as ride marshals for Bike Arlington five pi ride and do rcannon's three pi ride earlier in the day? That is actually ate pi!

You probably could. You just might need to watch the clock and cut out a little early. I think we might get to Java Shack at 1.30 p which means of course, any time before 5 pm.

Yes Tim, how can we volunteer?

I think a number of us were not aware that the ride was capped at 50 riders (I understand why- only so much Pi to go around, and other logistics). So by the time I sold my wife on the idea of doing this ride... oops, too late. And 200 riders would be way more than any of the stores could accomodate, so... Sounds like 2 ride marshals, at least. If you you need a referral for moi, contact Dasgeh.

Hey guys... Note sure what your rain plans are for this ride, but if you *are* riding, I have to scratch as a ride marshal tomorrow. Bad cold/sore throat, and at the moment, my voice is nearly useless. Be safe out there.

If you wanted to be extra geeky, you should have started the ride at 9:26:53.58 am (9:26 am and 53.58 seconds). Because 3.14159265358...

Note that the Rock 'n' Roll DC Marathon is taking place tomorrow, but mostly in DC. They run through Memorial Circle early in the race, then continue through various neighborhoods in DC.

Also note that the Bike Arlington ride has been postponed until Sunday (late pi instead of ate pi?).
