View Full Version : Bike Counter on WOD at S. Sterling Blvd?

There appears to be a bike counter at the crossing of four-lane Sterling Blvd in Loudoun Co.? It's trained on the road crossing. Can only confirm? It's a couple of pelican cases with what looks like a small camera on a mast about 12 feet in the air.

Don't remember seeing this the night before last. Must have just added it.

Maybe they're doing research for putting in a crossing light there.

Dear Tom,

I believe the device you see is from Toole Design Company. We (NVRPA) has contracted out with them to conduct a study of various trail intersections and Sterling Blvd was one of six intersections slated for study. The other five are Wiehle Avenue in Reston, Columbia Pike in Arlington, Hunter Mill Road, Belmont Ridge Road in Ashburn, and I'm drawing a blank on the last one (Lee Highway??).
