For those of you worried that once we finished capturing flags in Asia the side bets would be over, fear not. It's time for our next side bet challenge. For this side bet you will no longer be working in teams. This is an individual challenge but really we are all working on one big team. This challenge will be a photo meme challenge where we will be competing to post the next photo in logical sequence. Last year we found all 44 presidents. This year we must find the amendments to the US Constitution. I will go first:

To be judged an acceptable representation of the amendment you the forum like my photo. Once I get three more likes than dislikes, it's on to the next one. Until I get 3 likes its open for anyone to steal by posting a photo of their own for the same one. review finding the founding fathers for more details.

And for clarification, all photos must include a bike, but don't need a person like the flag game. Puns, word-play and trickery are encouraged. Some like this one will be easy, many will be hard. Be creative and have fun.

So something about the right to bare arms would be appropriate for the 2nd amendment?

That would be but my photo needs 3 likes first, and the photo must be recent, I.e.taken today or later, but yes that would work.

I suck at figuring out the rules. Love the games though! I enjoy watching them. Thanks for making this fun, sir!

The DEA is next door and they have a museum and an online gift shop. For real. You can buy this shirt from them too. Sounds like a decent program, but I find something amusing about the shirt:

Legal pedantry ahead. You have been warned.

The federal courts threshold has grown to $75,000

This is a fairly common misunderstanding. The $75,000 threshold only applies to cases that are in federal court on the basis of diversity jurisdiction. See 28 U.S.C. 1332(a). Diversity here refers to the fact that the parties must be citizens of different states or countries. Example: contracts are usually governed by state law, so most contract lawsuits are filed in state court. But if a citizen of Virginia is suing a citizen of Maryland over a contract dispute, and if the claim is worth more than $75,000, the case can be filed in federal court.

The $75,000 threshold doesn't apply if the case is in federal court on the basis of federal question jurisdiction -- i.e., because the claim arises under the Constitution or under a federal statute. For example, in a lawsuit alleging infringement of constitutional rights, it wouldn't matter if the claim was for less than $75,000. The plaintiff could still file the case in federal court, and the Seventh Amendment would guarantee a right to a jury trial so long as the claim exceeded $20.

Bottom line: I'm now going to do my Busterly duty and vote Like for Steve O's photo. :)

(Insert standard disclaimers here: I'm not an expert on the Seventh Amendment, this post provides no legal advice, etc., etc.)

can't see the picture

I must admit that the whole photo thing keeps me baffled. I can see the photo just fine. When I try to attach it through "Go Advanced," it shrinks it down so small that you can't see the detail needed. Also, evidently what I see and what others see is different somehow. And most of my posts in which I include photos look to me as though the photo is attached twice. If I try to delete one of them, they both go away.

Evidently others struggle too, given the huge number of sideways and upside down photos.

Why is it so hard?

I dare say that you will not find any evidence of the 9th and 10th amendments in this town.
