Are you a bicyclist who loves beer and lives in the DMV? Be a part of Port City's Pedals "N' Pints January ride! Come out for a 10:45 a.m. ride on Saturday, January 17, work up a thirst and return to plentiful brews and food from Rocklands Barbeque and Grilling Company Food Truck, who will be there by Noon.

It will be a little more than a 10-mile route from the front door of the Tasting Room out to the park, up to NVCC and back. There's one slight climb, but otherwise the ride is open to all level of bicyclists. Mountain, cyclocross, or "hybrid" bikes are perfect for this ride. Due to debris on the path and the occasional patch of gravel or dirt, road bikes are possible, but not recommended.

The amazing fellas down the street from Bicycle Pro Shop will be out with a pop-up shop tent and basic tools to assist riders with small repairs and on hand during the ride to assist with any mechanical issues.

All participants will need to sign a waiver beforehand. Any riders 14 years old and younger are required to wear a helmet, per law, but all riders are encouraged to wear helmets.

Port City Bike Jerseys and performance Pedals 'N' Pints shirts will be available for sale before and after the ride.

Would love to do this again, last ride was great (and the beer and the brewery tour) but I have a conflict this time.

Last month's ride was awesome! Unfortunately, I will be shredding (or sledding, depending on the weather) the trails at Stokesville this coming weekend. Count me in for February though!

There will be a convoy leaving the Bluemont caboose (https://www.google.com/maps/@38.8731434,-77.1324563,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!6m1!1szEvc2a-Mh8bY.k9uYh4qsoYsw) along the W&OD at 10am sharp.
Unless you are on team 5; that convoy will be leaving about 10:30 or so.

Looks like there will be a mini-convoy leaving from St. Elmo's at 10:00am as well. I'm not sure I would classify it as "sharp". Too bad we'll be too early for Colossal IV.

The Pedals and Pints event was great fun and there was a large contingent of Freezing Saddles folks.

Many thanks to KWL and his son for leading a couple of us to Port City and then to Rocklands, and to his lovely wife for saving a table for us so we all could get together for a very enjoyable lunch on the way back!

Great time at Pedal & Pints. Here's a pic of the BAFS15 contingent stolen from rcannon's Flickr post plus another one representing the NOVA-CBG Meetup group folks.

Can you believe that Steve O wore a Sombrero the entire ride?

What I lose in aerodynamic efficiency I make up for in fashionable elegance.
