I would have loved to try the Cabi program in Arlington but both stations near me are not responding to the touch screen. I called customer service and the answer was "we'll log it but we can't tell you when we'll fix it"
Am I the only one having these problems? How is the county monitoring the stations and this program?

Quite frankly after three attempts on two different days, I am having a hard time getting on-board with this program.

Sorry you're having problems. I ride my own bike 99.99% of the time, but have used CaBi on occasion and likely to get an annual membership soon now that there's a station next to my apartment in Alexandria. That said, my experience has always been good, and I know (at least secondhand) that CaBi customer service is usually quite responsive when things are amiss. Day to day operations of CaBi are handled by Alta Bicycle Share, which ultimately answers to the participating jurisdictions. Hopefully they'll get things resolved ASAP so you can get out there and ride!

I would also post on their Facebook page and/or Twitter page. The links should be on the website at www.capitalbikeshare.com.

Just wanted to add: my experience with CaBi has been entirely positive thus far. For what it's worth though, I have not needed to use the touchscreens at all. I took a leap of faith and bought an annual membership without any test riding, shortly after a station was installed near me.

I believe I saw an email from you last week--this was at Columbia Pike and & S. Walter Reed? According to usage data, it appears that the station was functioning properly.

As the stations are solar-powered, the screens go dormant to save energy when not in use for 2 minutes. However, if you simply touch the screen, it will wake up. Did you touch the screen?

I've come across opposition against the proposed station on Harrison Street. I'm happy to pass what I've found on to the right person at DES. There is a lot of misinformation out there.

Can you provide more details? Harrison and where? Opposition from whom? What kinds of things are they saying?

Near N. Harrison and N. Illinois, close to where the Custis goes by St. Ann church. What I saw expressed disagreement over how community input is being solicited and other concerns.
