Arlington folks - another chance to vote today OR Saturday. This time is for the Democratic endorsement for School Board (commonly thought to determine the winner).
I'm supporting Greg Greeley (http://www.greggreeley.com/)and would be happy to discuss with anyone interested.

Why should you care, even if you don't have kids? Schools make up almost half of the total Arlington County budget. School transportation, by some estimates, makes up just under half of the morning rush. As we've seen, school buses can be forces for danger on the roads. Schools also offer us a captive audience who could be educated to be safe transportation-minded citizens (and can, e.g., point out cyclists from their car seats). And APS needs to expand; if that expansion happens in the wrong places and with the wrong policies, we're going to see more cars on the road. Also, this is a caucus, so you will probably see all three of the candidates (and probably the candidates for Jim Moran's seat) at the voting place. Take your helmet in when you go to vote (and your kids, if you have them) to make it clear that cyclists vote. If you have time, talk to candidates about the importance of school transportation and teaching kids the life skill of safe transportation. You could also point out that APS should teach kids to bike like they teach them to swim, because you can't swim to a job.

Here's where you can vote:
