Hi All,

There are bike some fun rides coming up in Alexandria, one specifically family-friendly, one that is women only and a slow ride in Old Town that for those of us who like to dress up, ride slow, and/or read books.

Info below (the info pages are on meetup.com, but there is no requirement to RSVP or sign on to meetup.com).

These are rides for people who do not already ride a lot, so please forward this info to friends, family or neighborhood e-mail groups as appropriate.

Thanks!

Jonathan Krall

The 5ish mile route will roll by some historic sites from the 1920s and 30s. Wear something festive! Seer sucker? A snappy vest? 3. Women on a Roll: A Bike Tour of Alexandria for Local Ladies
Sunday, May 4, 9:30 am
Jones Point Park (look for women wearing green)
The park entrance is in the 900 block of S Royal Street

According to the League of American Bicyclists, women are a powerful consumer force, but too often they do not feel welcome in bike shops or do not feel products address their desires and needs. We値l stop in local bike shops to introduce ourselves to the salespeople and to show the shops that we care and we need them in the community.

We値l meet at 9:30am at Jones Point Park and start our ride at 10am sharp. It will be a leisurely ride and we値l make sure no one gets left behind or lost. Bring yourself, a bike and helmet, and your energy. Wear something green so we値l recognize each other as Women on a Roll.
