So who's riding for Pi today? 3.14 miles for a slice, 31.42 miles for a whole Pi! :D

We bought a pizza last night in advance of Pi day, but with it totally in mind. My wife has a social thing tonight, so having it around already for leftovers and a quick dinner before she leaves will be convenient... and celebrate pi. Anyway, yes, pi(e). My 15 miles of commuting yesterday more than earned me my two slices. I have to run some errands on my lunch break today by bike, so I may try to pick up a slice or two then. I'l make sure to travel at least 3.14 miles if I do pizza at lunch, even if it means a very circuitous route or a far flung pizza place.
I also picked up some cloves and ginger last night at the grocery store on the way home --- a pumpkin pie is also in the plans tonight. :-P

Got my 3.14 in and a slice of pie from Java Shack at FCC this morning. Pie from Acme: http://acmepieco.com/
Happy Friday!

I haven't figured out a 31.42 mile ride yet, but I plan on getting my Pi in!
Also, important question: where around here can I get a homemade peanut butter pie? I would sell my soul for one!

I'm thinking about a stop by Westover Beer Garden for a weekend kick off beverage and a slice of Acme Pie Co.'s finest.

You can get an apple pie at Fresh Market in Alexandria or Vienna.

I thought Acme Pie Company had a peanut butter sample when they were at the Megabeth Hains Point Century in December, but I don't see it listed as one of their current six options.
FYI - Mom's Apple Pie in Leesburg is 31.42 miles (more or less) from the one mile post on the Custis Trail. ;)

What time are you thinking of going? This is a good idea. I might leave work early ... :)

Hoping to roll out of my DC office between 3:30 and 4.

Maybe I will see you there, then! Not sure how far a trek that is for you, but I was thinking I could probably arrive around 4:15, and then head out around 4:45 to pick up my son. Enough time for a pint.

Hmmm, too bad that would mess with getting in my 32.14 miles, and of couse I don't get off work until 5pm. Guess I'll have to settle for Marie Callander and a Heavy Seas at home.

Bah - I may have to stay later. Anyway, it sounds like a great way to wrap up the week, so I'm gonna see if I can make it happen :)

Ok, I'm doing it. I'm gonna meet up with GuyContinental on the W&OD and we'll ride back over to westover for a pint (around 4/4:15, I am guessing). @culimerc, maybe see you there if the timing works. @consularrider, heavy seas is not a bad compromise (loose canon!)

I managed my 31.42 miles of bicycling (actually, a total of 33.7 miles, according to Strava), but for some reason that pie didn't magically appear for me!

After looking around the interwebs for a bit, I remembered that my sister had sent me a peanut butter pie recipe last July. I decided to make it myself. After making it, I took a bike ride since the pie needed a few hours to chill in the fridge. I almost got my ride to show as 31.4 miles, but I was just barely over, the only sad part of my day.
Here's the ride I did: http://www.strava.com/activities/120668610
And here's the peanut butter pi:

10 times pi ride. Pizza pi for dinner. Peanut butter pi for dessert. Pi Day complete!
