If you're not going on WABA's Cider Ride (http://bikearlingtonforum.com/showthread.php?6254-WABA-cider-ride-Dec-7), please feel free to join my traditional (4th year?) holiday shopping ride to DC's Eastern Market and the Downtown Holiday Market. Our ride groups are usually small and social.

Here is the usual route, more or less: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1984727

We start at Proteus (http://www.proteusbicycles.com/) at 10am PST (usually about 10:15 rollout), and get to Eastern Market at about 11:30. Shop and lunch at Eastern Market until about 12:30 or so, then head over to the Holiday Market, which is on the south side of the National Portrait Gallery. Then back up the Met Branch trail to the Anacostia Trib trails, arriving back at Proteus around 3pm (possibly with a dessert stop at Shortcake bakery). We have in the past decided to stop for 2nd lunches at Menomale instead of pastries, so return time and route could vary. We've also hit Zeke's in NE DC for coffee on the way in, so the inbound route and timing is also a bit uncertain.

Best way to combine dreaded gift shopping with a great day of bicycle cycling!

Weather projected to be cool but nice, highs in the low 40s, partly sunny, light-moderate north winds (which is actually good for the Holiday Market because it's protective).

Saturday, December 7, 10am-3pm-ish.

Ohhh. That's good to know. I'm not late, I'm just on PST.

Unfortunately, PST is a thing, and it's a little later than 15 minutes...

Well, I'm certainly clueless on this topic. ;)
