The "Urban Waters Bike Ride" is being hosted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Office of Water, Office of Science and Technology, EPA Region III and the Smithsonian Institution's Anacostia Community Museum (ACM).

*Working through the ACM's public outreach component, EPA and ACM are engaging with people in the community to provide information about how to improve the health of the water and the land in the Anacostia Watershed while addressing community priorities. By promoting public access to issues surrounding urban waters, EPA, ACM and you will help community members become active participants in restoration and protection. By linking water to other community priorities, EPA and ACM will help to sustain that involvement.

*The exhibition, "Reclaiming the Edge: Urban Waterways and Civic Engagement" will challenge visitors to consider how they think about issues such as reclamation, restoration, and appropriate redevelopment of their urban waterways and surrounding land. Some portions of the exhibit are interactive and especially designed to capture the attention of young people, encouraging the next generation to value and care for natural resources. The exhibit is open October 15, 2012 - September 15, 2013 in the Main Gallery.
